Background of the Study Food security is a worldwide problem that affects both rich and poor nations, irrespective of harvest conditions (Jarzebski, Ahmed, Boafo, 2020; Simelane & Worth, 2020). While food availability is critical, it does not necessarily equate to food security, as access, nutritional quality, and sustainability are equally important components (Simelane & Worth, 2020). Globally, hunger has increased, with 92.8 million people in South America and 59.7 million people in North America affected, showing significant growth over recent years (WFP, 2020; UNICEF, 2021; East & Africa, 2021).
